Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Burnett is a 2008 graduate of Delta State University and a 2012 graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school graduation, Dr. Burnett completed an internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine in Mandeville, LA. Since completing the internship in 2013, Dr. Burnett has over 7 years of experience in private practice. In 2018, he started Yocona River Veterinary Services, a large animal ambulatory practice here in Oxford. His interests include preventative medicine, infectious disease, surgery, and pathology. He and his wife, Kaitlyn, have one daughter, Emmy, and one son, Thomas. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, going to college football and baseball games, and spending time with his family and three dogs, Ivy, Sophie, and Belle.
