In-Clinic Diagnostics
Animal Care Center provides a wide range of diagnostic services for companion animals in Oxford, Our in-house laboratory enables us to get results quickly so that we can diagnose your pet’s condition and start treatment which is especially beneficial for critical illness and injury cases.
Some health conditions may not be obvious during an external examination. For this reason, we conduct in-house diagnostic tests to get an accurate picture of your pet’s overall health. At Animal Care Center, we recommend regular diagnostic testing so that our veterinarians will have baseline information about your pet. Having a history of test results lets us know if there is a significant change that indicates an underlying condition or disease.
Tests that we perform include white blood count (WBC), chemistry profiles, pancreatitis tests, tick screening, felv/fiv, heartworm, urine testing, parasite testing, cytology, and parvovirus testing. We offer a screening for geriatric patients over age 7 that includes a WBC, chemistry panel, radiographs of thorax and abdomen, and urinary analysis. For any specialized tests that we do not perform in-house, we use an outside laboratory to procure results.
We also perform digital radiography on site, and we have a traveling doctor who performs ultrasonography at our clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
